Symptoms of Marburg

Marburg virus (MARV) is a hemorrhagic fever virus of the Filoviridae family of viruses. It is a member of the species Marburg marburgvirus, genus Marburgvirus.

It causes Marburg virus disease in primates, a form of viral hemorrhagic fever. The incubation period is between 3 and 21 days. There is a risk of this spreading outside of African countries.

The symptoms of Marburg are as follows :-

severe headaches

aching joints / muscle pain

rash

high fever

diarrhoea / vomiting

unexplained bleeding

There is no vaccine / cure for this virus.
